This is the longest I’ve *ever* gone without blogging, I think.
But to be fair, I’ve had a pretty good excuse.
A 5 lb 9 oz, 19″ long excuse…
Simon Neal Hoops was born at 9:37pm on July 16th, at 34 weeks’ gestation. Little dude’s in the NICU for now, but hopefully he’ll be headed home before too long.
He’s in awesome shape, all things considered: didn’t have to spend any time on a respirator, only a little while under the bilirubin lights, and he nurses like a champ (when he can manage to stay awake, that is).
(om nom nom nom nom)
I’ll be back later to tell you the whole story about our month of July (There’s blood! Mystery! Drama! And Taco Bell!). Warning: it’s so unbelievable that you have no choice but to believe it.
(I love the faces that he makes. I call this one “Incredulous Baby”, and it’s a miniature version of the exact same expression Jeff made when I tried to convince him that in England they call tennis “Wimbly”.)
Until I have time to write it all out, you’ll probably have better luck catching up with me one of these places:
or, if those few little bits of picture-y goodness above weren’t enough for you, Flickr:
I’ll be back when I can, with the full story!
Kate, Jeff, and Simon
(and Roxie and Macbeth, who really *are* rather neglected right about now)
